MISSION
The Hammond Chamber of Commerce needed a professionally designed website that could be used by its members and the larger Hammond community. Searching for a local Hammond web design company interested in undertaking their project, they sent out a Request for Proposal. Benson Technology was ecstatic to accept and to take on the challenge of creating a website that would be user-friendly, feature the many Chamber-sponsored community events in Hammond, and offer a member directory to showcase the Chamber's numerous sponsors.
To achieve our results, we wanted to create an easily maneuverable interface for Hammond Chamber members and the Hammond community to find what they need from their initial contact and that would encourage them to continue using this site as the "go-to" for information on everything local. Our primary goal was to ensure members that the Hammond Chamber is adequately promoted, event information is easily accessed, and modifications to the website are effectively done by its members.
RESULTS
The website designed and implemented for the Hammond Chamber of Commerce nearly speaks for itself. Benson Technology was able to meet all of their goals and more. The website currently draws thousands of visitors each month seeking information on Hammond Chamber events, member businesses, community news, job postings, property listings, chamber committees, and the Hammond community.
Major events and promotions for local Hammond businesses are displayed in an easy-to-update, eye-catching, Flash™ slideshow. Immediately beneath the slideshow is a random listing of Hammond Chamber members and their logos. With each page view, the listings of members and their logos refreshes so that each member receives equal promotion. Members' logos can be clicked on in order to visit their websites.
From the website's home page, a visitor can easily view upcoming events in the Hammond area, click the event listing to get more information, and access directions through Google Maps. In addition to the front page listing, members of the Hammond community can simply view the event calendar located under "Community" in the horizontal website menu bar. Once at the calendar, users can choose to view the event listings in either a list-view or month-view. By clicking an event, they are able to view the event details just as from the front page.
The Business Directory is easily the most innovative feature of the Hammond Chamber of Commerce website. Visitors to the website can click to view the Business Directory from the first page and, from there, browse for members by category or use the search function to find a specific listing. Each member listing includes a standard phone-book listing along with a link to get directions through Google Maps. Members have the option of easily extending their listing to include an email contact which allows visitors to send correspondence directly from the Chamber website. Members may also choose to upload a logo and an additional photo.

Buddies Bar & Grill of Hammond came to us for a website design that would be simple in structure and reflect each aspect of their business—a restaurant, bar, and entertainment venue. They wanted the capability to easily update their website's daily specials and nightly entertainment schedules. Customers would also need to be able to easily join their Facebook page, so they could receive updates via Facebook feed. The ultimate goal of Buddies Bar & Grill was to promote the versatility of their venue and to gain a following of patrons in the Hammond, LA area.
RESULTS
This custom website design presents a large-image slideshow that is eye-catching and imparts the atmosphere of Buddies Bar & Grill. Visitors instantly know that Buddies is elegant, yet warm and casual. Their restaurant is affordable and accessible, as reflected by their website. Buddies’ upcoming events are clearly displayed beneath the slideshow and can be easily updated by management. The daily lunch specials are accessible by the horizontal website menu across the top of the website. There, visitors can easily view the lunch specials for the upcoming week, and managers can easily update the specials on the website. Smith and Fawer of New Orleans approached Benson Technology for a professional website design that would be unique and set them apart from their competitors, specifically other New Orleans law firm websites. For a highly experienced and competitive law firm, nothing less than the best would do. Their New Orleans website design needed to convey to visitors that their firm was competitive, local, deep-rooted, and extremely experienced. Smith and Fawer desired the design to invoke confidence in their abilities and experience. In addition, they wanted visitors to be able to easily access relevant news items in print, audio, and video. With these goals in mind, we sought to create a site that would be informative as well as convey their experience and success in the field of law. Because the work of Smith and Fawer extends throughout the Gulf South, they also desired visitors to be able to access directions to each of their offices and readily know of the services they provide. Benson Technology was up to the challenge and created a New Orleans website design that gives viewers confidence in the professionalism, expertise, and competitive nature that the law firm of Smith and Fawer deserves.
RESULTS
It was important to consider the firm’s competitive edge before we made each design decision. To evoke a feeling of locality, a large photo of the New Orleans skyline was utilized in addition to a subtle fleur-de-lis background. Residents of New Orleans are firm believers in utilizing local businesses, and the reminder of where the heart of Smith and Fawer lies is never forgotten for a moment when viewing their site. Profiles with pictures of each attorney within the firm are available to give site visitors the ability to feel more in touch, as well as to expand on the expertise of each member of the firm. In order to enforce the firm’s experience, their fields of expertise are clearly defined on the home page, linking to more information on each area of practice and their previous experience in the area. Also, a page devoted to news and media coverage of cases handled by members of Smith and Fawer are available as reinforcement that in over fifteen years, the firm has continued to be a strong, deeply-rooted, and competitive firm in the New Orleans area. The multi-functional elements of the three websites contained within the Benson Dermatology website had to extend information efficiently to potential clients and patients and to help them determine the techniques, procedures, and services that are right for them.
RESULTS
The resulting website of bensonderm.com beautifully captures the three-featured nature that Dr. Benson and his staff were hoping for in their custom designed website. When a viewer arrives on the website's home page, they are instantly offered the option to visit any of the three internal sites. Viewers are also greeted with quotes from previously satisfied patients and clients on the testimonial scroller at the top of the page. Additionally, the color-schemes of each internal site remain consistent throughout the whole website. This way, if viewers want to jump from the Dermatology Clinic page to the QnA Medical Spa page, they can click on the green link at the top of the page. Each of the three internal sites are easily accessible from the others.
Benson Technology worked hard to make sure viewers could gather relevant information about the various practices and services offered by Benson Dermatology. An efficient system for tracking orders and merchandise and maintaining the accuracy of its inventory was an essential element in the creation of the Heavenly Gifts website.
RESULTS
Benson Technology realized the importance of constructing this website with the customer in mind and worked closely with Heavenly Gifts to customize certain commercial features and advertising elements. The design of the site remains simple and functional, while providing viewers an easy way to search for and access the conveniently-categorized products Heavenly Gifts has available. With a top header of a blue sky and clouds, visitors cannot help but think of heaven. Ultimately, this website hopes to assist viewers in finding products that will help them "to grow spiritually, know God intimately, and bring others into a relationship with Jesus Christ." As Heavenly Gifts' mission, this became an important factor in Benson Technology's creation and customization of the site.
The e-commerce elements of the Heavenly Gifts website set it apart from other information-driven websites. With a secure encryption for its checkout, the Heavenly Gifts site allows customers to sign-in to their account and purchase products directly from the store itself. Benson Technology constructed a fully-functional shopping cart feature for ease of purchase for customers and efficient tracking of inventory for the store. A feature of the cart is the customized inventory system that keeps Heavenly Gifts aware of their product supply and of items that need ordering. Along with the shopping cart, we equipped the site with a banner feature on the homepage that alerts viewers to updates and promotion codes. The mission of this web design project was to take a very old teaching and present it in a variety of new and inspiring ways. At the outset, there was only a verbal presentation pieced together using passages from the Bible. A handout was designed using the passages to accompany the presentation. From the verbal presentation and handout was developed a written transcript. An audio recording was created using the transcript, and finally a 98-minute website video was produced from all of the above.

This amazing presentation is made available on the web site in every form described above. Visitors to the web watch the video, listen to the audio-only presentation, download the audio to their iPod®, burn their own CD, download the full transcript in PDF format, and more! Benson Technology created a custom website that brings together the friendly atmosphere of the Animal Care Center with an elegance and style that accurately expresses the Center's professional services and expert care. Upon arriving at the homepage, viewers are greeted by a pet-friendly Flash Slideshow. MISSION
St. Albert Catholic Church in Hammond, LA needed a local web design company to create a page for their church that could be easily referenced by students at Southeastern Louisiana University. St. Albert Church wanted the site to offer important notices, event listings, mass schedules, and general information about the church. The site needed to be one that would show school pride - being a campus ministry - while not losing sight of its purpose as a church. They also desired an inviting design that would make students feel welcome. Essentially, St. Albert's primary audience would be Southeastern students, and they would need a website aimed directly at a student population and nearby Hammond community.
RESULTS
Immediately, any visitor to the website knows that St. Albert is a campus ministry, due to the use of Southeastern's school colors as the website's color palette. In addition, the background hints of torn parchment to evoke thoughts of religion and bible study. An eye-catching flash slideshow is used on the home page so that exciting pictures of activities and members can be uploaded for visitors to see. Alongside the slideshow is an event list of upcoming events with a mass schedule directly below that. The Louisiana Children's Discovery Center of Hammond needed a professional website that parents could navigate easily to get information about upcoming events, as well as information about the Discovery Center itself. The site needed to impart to parents the nature of the Discovery Center as a kid-friendly, fun environment where children come to learn and play in safety. It needed to be bright and colorful, but easy for parents to navigate in order to find the information they needed, whether they just wanted to bring their child for a day of fun or book a party in this unique Hammond museum.
RESULTS
Visitors to the Louisiana Children's Discovery Center web page are immediately greeted by a large image of a child with painted hands having the time of his life. With this as a website visitor's first impression, parents are invited to view the rest of the site with ideas of their own child having creative fun in a kid-friendly environment. The background image used on the site makes use of images of turning gears to suggest a realm of learning and intellectual growth.
In addition, the use of a gear backdrop also serves as a constant reminder of a Discovery Center feature - the donor gear clock! No matter where a visitor wanders on the site, there is this reminder that they can donate at many different levels to become a gear sponsor.
Below the large image of the Louisiana Children's Discovery Center logo is a navigation bar which directs parents to all the information they need, such as About Us, Memberships, Events and Parties, and Sponsorships. There is also a promotion reel which scrolls through many of the activities the Discovery Center offers. Each picture has a short description and a link to read more, if more information is available on the feature. Upcoming events are also prominently displayed next to the promotion reel so Hammond parents know instantly of events occurring in the near future. For more information on upcoming events, there is a custom event calendar available. Visitors are able to change the view in order to see either a full view of the upcoming month or a list view of the upcoming events.
Essentially, the Louisiana Children's Discovery Center custom website is fun, friendly, and informational. Parents and visitors to the Hammond area can easily find the information they need to take their children on a fun-filled and educational day at the museum.

RESULTS
The website for Morse Taxidermy immediately grabs the hunter's eye with a woodsy, cabin background and logo. Two deer heads are mounted over a wood sign which reads "Preferred Taxidermist of" with a list of major companies that use Morse's work. The text's font seems as if it were branded right into the site, seamlessly pulling together the woodsy feel of the website. Contact numbers are predominately displayed at the top of the page and are present on every page, encouraging visitors to contact Morse Taxidermy.
A Flash Slideshow was included on the homepage to display highlights of Dirty's work, thereby encouraging visitors to check out the slideshows or "portfolio" of all of his work in his photo gallery, which can easily be found from the horizontal navigation menu. Beneath the slideshow and welcome message from Morse himself are quick links to testimonials and photos of exotics and whitetails. Here, visitors can quickly jump to the information they are seeking those mostÑthe quality of his work. The testimonials are available in text with a slideshow demonstrating the work he did for each individual who gave a testimonial.
The site is also easy to update so that as more taxidermy work is completed, more photos can easily be added to the photo album and testimonials added to the site. The Morse Taxidermy website is yet another example of spectacular and detail-oriented web design by Benson Technology.

The Manny Randazzo King Cake website needed to provide customers with updated information on king cakes and ways in which customers could order them. With its need for a sophisticated shopping cart system, this site deserved not only the best visual and functional elements, but also the most secure and updated management (back-end) system. Another important component the site needed was a way for customers to purchase and receive bulk orders in an efficient and timely manner. With the growing demand for Randazzo king cakes, both locally and nationally, Benson Technology faced a challenging task in creating this custom site.
RESULTS
The results of this website speak for itself! Benson Technology worked hard to make sure each custom feature of the website was functional, appealing, and Randazzo-approved. The design elements alone draw viewers into the site in a way that evokes a New-Orleans good time and the classiness of a premier website. Apart from the "Order Now" New Orleans street sign, the site's background design and black and gold coloring play off of the traditional, fleur-de-lis flare of New Orleans itself. Vibrant images and the Flash Slideshow highlight the best Randazzo's has to offer. The website also contains Facebook and video integration elements to keep customers informed on updates and promotions. With easy navigation features, customers are sure to find not only information about the Randazzo King Cake company, but also the right king cake for their family and friends.
The most essential piece in the construction of this website was the custom-made, fully-functional, and easy-to-use shopping cart component. Benson Technology successfully equipped Randazzo King Cakes with an ecommerce feature that carries over the New Orleans-inspired style of the rest of the website, allows customers to select types of king cakes to order along with specific ship dates (even with the flexibility of multiple ship sites for multiple cakes), and maintains the security of the customers' personal information.
In order for Randazzo's to keep track of the large number of orders generated through the website, Benson Technology created an innovative management system that simplifies order information so that Randazzo's could streamline its production and shipping methods. A dashboard feature shows all king cakes to be shipped on a given day and connects to an advanced inventory tracking system. For bulk orders, Benson Technology equipped the website with simple instructions and downloadable files for customers and an importing system for organizing bulk orders through a Comma-Separated Values format. Through these features, Randazzo's is able to serve better every customer. Additionally, the management system allows Randazzo's to set a maximum number of cakes to be (ordered) per day and verify shipping addresses with a UPS Address Verification feature.
